NEW YORK, NY -- ESTA (the Entertainment Services and Technology Association) announces the 2008 Eva Swan Award was presented to Tim Hansen, for his exceptional service to the Association over many years.  The award was presented at ESTA’s Annual Dinner on Thursday, October 23rd in Las Vegas.

November 2, 2008 - ESTA ANNOUNCES THE 2008 ROCK OUR WORLD AWARD WINNERS
NEW YORK, NY – The first annual Rock Our World Awards were presented at ESTA’s Annual Dinner on Thursday evening, October 23rd, the evening before the LDI show. These awards, which recognize groundbreaking achievement by ESTA Members in new products, product applications, or projects were created to acknowledge the genius of both the creator of technology and the designer or integrator who applies the technology in a real world environment.

November 1, 2008 - Two Committees Receive ESTA's 2008 Frank Stewart Volunteer of the Year Award
NEW YORK, NY -- ESTA bestowed the 2008 Frank Stewart Volunteer of the Year Award, which recognizes extraordinary effort by a volunteer or group of volunteers during the previous year, on the ESTA Membership Committee and on the Behind the Scenes Application for Assistance Review Committee. The awards were presented at ESTA's annual dinner on Thursday, October 23rd prior to the start of the LDI trade show in Las Vegas, NV.

October 31, 2008 - ESTA ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 2008 MEMERS’ CHOICE AWARDS
NEW YORK, NY -- ESTA announces the winners of the first annual Members’ Choice Awards presented on Saturday, October 25th at the LDI and ESTA Awards Ceremony. The awards recognize outstanding entertainment technology products in three categories: Expendable, Widget and Equipment. Voting on these awards was open to all employees of ESTA member companies who attended the LDI show. The 2008 winners were:

September 21, 2008 - ESTA Honored with CITT/ICTS Honorary Membership Award
NEW YORK, NY --  ESTA - The Entertainment Services and Technology Association has been honored with the 2008 CITT/ICTS Honorary Membership Award. The award is bestowed on an individual and/or organization not actively involved in technical disciplines of the Canadian live performance industry, but who by virtue of their position has contributed significantly to the development of technical disciplines within Canada. The contribution can be seen through the recipients’ decision-making, influence and philosophy within the community or by showing themselves to be a longstanding friend of the Institute.

September 2, 2008 - ESTA Announces Finalists for First Annual Rock Our World Awards
ESTA is pleased to announce the finalists in the first ever Rock Our World Awards to be presented at the ESTA Annual Dinner & Ceremony at LDI 2008.  The ESTA Rock Our World Awards were created to honor groundbreaking achievement by its members and to acknowledge the genius of both the creator of technology and the designer or integrator who applies the technology in a real world environment. With over 30 nominations, a screening panel narrowed the field to nine finalists. 

May 20, 2008 - ESTA ANNOUNCES THE ROCK OUR WORLD AWARDS

May 20, 2008 - GenESTA Launches Online Discussion Community
New York, NY – May 20th marks the launch of GenESTA’s new electronic discussion group, allowing ESTA members to have year-round communication with each other. Dealers, Manufacturers, Production companies and ETCP technicians will be able to post and reply to online messages, fostering healthy lines of contact where face-to-face meetings are not always possible.

November 27, 2007 - ESTA ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 2007 DEALERS’ CHOICE PRODUCT AWARDS
NEW YORK, NY -- ESTA announces the winners of the 2007 Dealers' Choice Product Awards which recognize outstanding entertainment technology products in three categories: Expendable, Widget and Equipment. These Awards honoring product innovation were established in recognition of the fact that dealers have an enormous impact on the success of a new product, as well as a unique perspective on its merits. November 26, 2007 - ACN Task Group Receives ESTA’s Frank Stewart Volunteer of the Year Award
NEW YORK, NY -- ESTA bestowed the 2007 Frank Stewart Volunteer of the Year Award, which recognizes extraordinary effort by a volunteer or group of volunteers during the previous year, on the ACN Task Group for their work in developing ANSI E1.17, the important new Architecture for Control Networks standard. The award was presented at ESTA's annual dinner on Thursday, November 15th prior to the start of the LDI trade show in Orlando, FL.

November 26, 2007 - Control Protocols Interoperability Pavilion Shows Cooperative Diversity
NEW YORK, NY -- The Control Protocols Interoperability Pavilion, put together for this years' LDI as part of ESTA's Technical Standards Program effort, provided examples of ACN (ANSI E1.17) capabilities, and details of the OpenACN project. A comprehensive gathering of RDM (ANSI E1.20) products from 14 different manufacturers was combined for a highly educational demonstration of the RDM "Discovery" process. The variety of controller and test applications demonstrated made it clear how powerful these new protocols, both ACN and RDM, can be. They will help shape the future interoperability of entertainment lighting products and applications.
